This is the point where sports gadgetry has stepped over a line.
The Pittsburgh Steelers gridiron side are using "robot tackling dummies" in their training sessions. The remote controlled pads look like an April Fools Day joke, but coach Mike Tomlin is apparently serious about their advantages.
"They never get tired and run at an appropriate football speed...the applications are endless," Tomlin said.
The robots don't talk back to coaches either, or stay out late, or ask for pay rises. So maybe they will catch on.
