A former South African cricketer is being targeted by the ICC's anti-corruption unit while other players are facing disciplinary action for failing to report corrupt approaches.
The Telegraph reports that South Africa is "bracing itself for its biggest match-fixing scandal since the Hansie Cronje affair."
The former test player is said to be the leader of a ring trying to tamper with matches in the Ram Slam, the premier T20 competition in South Africa. The Ram Slam - which has struggled to flourish - is shown live in India, the centre of cricket corruption.
Cricket South Africa released one statement in December saying it had suspended an "intermediary" who was "contriving to fix, or otherwise improperly influence aspects" of the Ram Slam.
The ICC is helping South Africa with the investigation, which is expected to become public after the current series with England is finished.
