After years as a player, coach and administrator at most levels of the game, former White Sox Naomi Shaw, of Hutt Valley, has been appointed director of coaching for New Zealand Softball (NZS).
The job is a new position created by NZS to help the development of players at all levels and implement and oversee coaching programmes throughout the country.
She played for the White Sox at three world championships and was captain in 1982 when they claimed the gold medal.
