KEY POINTS:
New Zealand softball coach Eddie Kohlhase has named a 17-man squad for their tour of Canada in June.
New Zealand will play Canada in a six-match series and another four exhibition games.
A new face in the team is Tyson Byrne from Hutt Valley, who will be looking to make his senior international debut on tour.
The sides have not met since the 2004 world championships in Christchurch, where New Zealand beat Canada 9-5 in the final to win their third consecutive world title.
Kohlhase said left-hander Byrne, a former Junior Black Sox, has all the abilities the selection panel was looking for.
The squad will assemble in Auckland for the first time on April 12 for a three-day training camp
