New Zealand relinquished their unblemished record with a 1-0 loss to Australia at the junior men's world softball championship in Canada yesterday.

Two-time defending champions Australia grabbed victory thanks to an automatic home by Nick Norton in the seventh inning in the under-19 tournament at Prince Edward Island.
