New Zealand have finished fourth at the junior world softball championship in Canada after losing 2-1 to the hosts in the sudden death semifinal yesterday.
Canada went ahead in the fifth inning, New Zealand levelled in the sixth through Campbell Makea but Canada got the winner in the seventh.
New Zealand were seeded fourth and finished with eight wins from 12 games.
