A two-run fightback in the seventh innings saw the White Sox take a 4-3 win over the International All Stars side in Auckland last night.
The Kiwis went behind early in the third game of the New Zealand Community Trust women's international softball series when the All Stars scored two runs in the third innings and marked up another in the third.
The All Stars' runs came courtesy of some big hitting from international players Jennifer Spediacci, Germaine Fairchild and Natalie Antler, along with a couple of errors in the White Sox fielding.
A fight back from the Kiwis at Auckland's Lion Red Ballpark started in the fifth innings when Jackie Smith scored on a hit by Char Pouaka followed by another run when Pouaka came home on an error in the All Stars field.
The winning runs came in the White Sox' final turn at bat when Wendy Telfer running for Char Pouaka scored on a hit by Timu to the right field fence and then Timu scored on an outfield fly from the bat of Upu Lote to win the game.
The White Sox lead the eight-match series 2-1.
