Softball: Canadian softballers win

Mel Matthews drove in two crucial runs to give Canada a late 3-2 victory over Australia in the world women's softball championship playoffs in Venezuela yesterday.

Erin Cumpston and Kaleigh Rafter both singled in the seventh inning, setting the stage for Canada's comeback after Australia had taken a 2-0 lead.
