World Cup soccer matches will be screened live for New Zealand television audiences, it was announced today.
The tournament, in South Korea and Japan from June 1-30, will be broadcast on both Sky Television and TV One, ending fears from soccer fans in this country that they would miss out on the sport's showpiece.
The partnership, between the two New Zealand's broadcasters, will see all 64 of the matches from the round robins through to the final being shown live on Sky, with TV One screening daily highlights in the afternoon and evening.
TV One will also have live broadcasts of four of the round of 16 games, two quarterfinals and both semifinals and the final.
