Football has become embroiled in yet another ugly biting incident, with a goalkeeper in Romania - home of Dracula - sinking his fangs into an opposing player during a match featuring seven red cards.
Petrolul Ploiesti's gloveman Mircea Bornescu bit Gaz Metan Medias striker Tha'er Al Bawab on the upper arm as the two teams clashed in Romania's Liga One on Friday morning (NZT).
Bornescu was apparently furious Al Bawab had spent so long on the ground after going down injured.
Video of the incident clearly shows the goalkeeper grabbing Al Bawab's shirt before plunging his teeth into his arm.
The match descended into chaos, sparking a melee that led to Bornescu and six other players receiving their marching orders.
