"When I went into it I was just super grateful to compete… I was grateful for the opportunity to learn from these amazing snowboarders that I've looked up to since I started. As I went through the comp, I was learning more and more and I guess that helped me come away with the win," said Sadowski-Synnott.
The 19-year-old is now preparing for the snowboarding world champs in two weeks.
"I'm definitely looking at defending being world champ and getting on the podium for big air because I haven't at world champs before.
"That's the big pinnacle before the Olympics so I'm looking at a good result there which will add to my Olympic qualifying and I'm using it as a testament for what I can do."
Sadowski will then fly to Alaska to compete at the Natural Selection finals.
"There's only going to be two girls going so it's going to be pretty crazy and I've never been to Alaska so I'm going to try and navigate that and learn a lot."
There's no doubt the Wanaka local will collect a few more medals to bring back home with her in early April.
She has her MIQ booked and can't wait to relax.
"I'm looking forward to decompressing from the hectic comp season. When I get home I'll be able to get back in the gym and go surfing."
Sadowski will spend the New Zealand winter training at Cardrona in the lead up to the February Olympics in Beijing.
"Cardrona Park works with us and always put together whatever we need, like say we need a certain feature to train on because we know it's going to be in qualifying courses, they'll help us put it together and train on it."
