Rebecca Sinclair won a silver medal for New Zealand in the women's halfpipe final at the junior snowboard and freestyle world championships at Wanaka yesterday.
Sinclair, 18, scored seven on her second jump before holding on to second place behind Slovenia's Cilka Sadar.
Sadar, also 18, scored 37.8, ahead of Sinclair on 31.7 and Japan's Haruna Matsumoto on 31.4.
The men's final was won by 14-year-old Taku Hiraoka, of Japan, who scored 44.2, ahead of Australian silver medallist Nathan Johnstone on 42.2, with Italian Manuel Pietropoli third on 39.8.
