Freestyle skier Jossi Wells and Paralympian Adam Hall have been named Snow Sports New Zealand's Athletes of the Year.
Both had podium finishes at the world's most prestigious events.
Hall, 20 and born with spina bifida, won the largest collection of medals of any snow sports team member as he moved from 14th to second on the overall world slalom rankings. He won seven gold medals on the North American Cup series, a gold and two silvers on the World Cup circuit and gold at the Wells Fargo world invitational.
Wells, 18, was this year's world superpipe champion, the first New Zealander to get a silver medal at the Winter X Games, won the Nippon freeskiing open slopestyle and was second at the US Open Big Air Event.
Hall also collected the award for the Snow Sports Adaptive Skier of the Year, and Wells won the Snow Sports Freeskier of the year.
Other finalists for the overall athlete of the year included snowboarder of the year Mitch Brown, alpine ski racer of the year Ben Griffin and cross country skier of the year Andrew Pohl.
