Young Queenstown skier Tim Cafe was denied a double at the national skiing championships at Coronet Peak yesterday when he finished runner-up in the giant slalom to Christchurch's Mark Bridgwater.
Bridgwater, 22, clocked 1m 37.32s to Cafe's 1m 37.48s to finish sixth overall in the international field, his best result.
Cafe, 21, who won the national Super G title on Thursday, was seventh equal with Sweden's Anton Lahdenperae.
