Whakapapa
Hard-packed 65cm snow base, which softens during the day. Icy off trail. Some lifts open. Fine and clear weather is expected to carry through the weekend.
Turoa
Good skiing but a little limited. Hard-packed snow, very icy off piste. Free Skiwi programme to continue through to end of school holidays: free supervised fun for kids 1-3pm each day. Fine, clear, warm weather forecast for the rest of the week and into early next week.
Mt Hutt
Springlike snow softening through the day. The upper slopes have a 55cm base, the lower mountain has 40cm. All lifts operating. 100 per cent learners terrain in use, 60 per cent intermediate and 15 per cent advance ski-able. Wide Load Half Pipe Jam for snowboarders to be held Saturday.
Cardrona
Current snow base is between 30cm-90cm with about 80 per cent terrain good skiing. Very light spring snow on trails. All lifts operating. Mild weather over the school holidays with few clouds is expected to continue through to the weekend.
Treble Cone
A generous covering of manmade snow means the field has a good base of up to 120cm. All lifts operational. Clear skies and mild weather expected until Sunday.
Coronet Peak
This field is gearing up for the event of the season: the Air New Zealand Winter Festival which kicks off this Saturday. Events to be held at both the field and in Queenstown include fireworks, bands, and endurance races.
Soft spring snow on a 30cm-55cm base. Fine weather until early next week.
Remarkables
Great snow of up to 100cm on the upper mountain. All lifts open. Fine and calm weather all week is not expected to change on weekend.
