New technology LCD TVs have been getting lighter, small and cheaper. Now they're getting waterproof as well.
According to their manufacturer, Gineico's range of waterproof LCD TVs have not only been specifically designed to withstand the harsh salt water environment, they can also be totally submerged under water.
Designed primarily to be watched in areas, like cockpits, where there is a strong possibility of either salt or fresh water reaching the units, the LCDs are capable of being rinsed clean with a water hose.
Each of the "underwater" LCD TVs feature an alloy back cover to protect it from heat and salt erosion as well as a polycarbonate filter to protect against water and scratches. These totally waterproof TVs are available in three sizes: 26.4cm, 38cm and 51cm.
The company also offers a 106cm waterproof marine LCD TV that, like the smaller cockpit TVs, is completely suitable for outdoor use and can be washed clean with a hose.
The range comes with floating, water-resistant remote controls.
