Boardsailor Tom Ashley and the Star crew of Hamish Pepper and Carl Williams have been added to the 2006 Yachting New Zealand Olympic squad following their recent performances in international regattas.
Ashley finished third in a fleet of 67 at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
He had eight top five finishes in the 12-race regatta, including two race wins.
Pepper and Williams proved their potential with an impressive fifth place among a strong 67-boat fleet at the Rolex Miami OCR regatta in January. Pepper followed it up with a third place at the Expert Olympic Regatta, Lake Garda, Italy.
