KEY POINTS:
Italy's Alessandra Sensini may be one of the leading women at the RS:X World Championships in Takapuna, but the veteran boardsailor was just relieved to see her name on the results sheet on day two.
Sensini was something of a "ghost-rider" on the opening day of the regatta.
Despite recording two wins on day one, she failed to show up on the official results due to a computer glitch.
A multiple Olympic medallist and world champion, she had been mistakenly registered under the wrong sail number so every time she rounded the mark the tracking system did not pick her up.
The 37-year-old Italian admits she got a fright when she came ashore after her first two races to find she did not even feature on the results.
But she said she was always confident the problem could be fixed.
"I was sure it was something they could easily solve because everybody was saying I had won but when it's like that you're still a bit nervous until they show up."
Sensini said she only needed to step one foot inside the race management office before she was assured they were working on the problem.
"I went in and they said 'we know, we know, we know' so after that I didn't worry."
While she was initially missing from the official results, there has certainly been no missing Sensini's performances this week.
Always a top contender at international regattas, Sensini has spent over a month in Auckland adjusting to the conditions.
She competed at the national champs late last year, where she finished second to Barbara Kendall, and said she was getting used to the changeable wind on the Hauraki Gulf.
Despite the light winds in the early days of the regatta, Sensini said the weather this week was some of the best she had experienced in Auckland.
"At the moment we are having nice weather - it is sunny and warm and shows up all the beauty of this place."
