New Zealand boardsailor Tom Ashley moved from second to first place in the RS:X world championships in Lake Garda, Italy overnight, confirming his spot in the medal race.
In the women's section, Barbara Kendall also kept her medal hopes alive by moving up one place from sixth to fifth, comfortably holding on to the required top 10 finish.
