KEY POINTS:
New Zealand boardsailor Barbara Kendall yesterday drifted to third overall in the European championship in Cyprus after having to sit out the only race of the day.
With the conditions light off Limassol, officials needed several attempts to get the race going.
The fourth attempt was made under a black flag, meaning disqualification for anyone over the line early.
Kendall was one of eight competitors nabbed for being over early, so couldn't take part in the race.
She was able to discard the result, but dropped from her overnight position of second overall. Spain's Marina Alabau finished the race second to remain at the head of the fleet after seven races, 12 points in front of Italy's Alessandra Sensini, with Kendall three points further back.
Two races were possible in the men's event, which split into a gold and silver fleet.
New Zealander Jon Paul Tobin was seventh overall in the gold fleet, after placings of 20th (discarded) and 13th.
He trailed leader Przemek Miarcynski, of Poland, by 26 points after eight races and with two days of the regatta to go.
