America's Cup management chief executive Michel Bonnefous has reportedly told Spanish newspaper Las Provincias that if Alinghi defends the America's Cup, the next event will be held in Valencia in 2009.
Bonnefous said that he was delighted with progress of work in the Valencia port and added that it would once again be the setting for the cup if Alinghi is successful in its defence.
Bonnefous' revelation came after the announcement of a sponsorship agreement with Coca-Cola under which 300 million cups will carry the logo during the pre-regattas and the cup.
