Emirates Team New Zealand weren't given the chance to level the score with Mascalzone Latino this morning after light, shifty winds prevented any racing from taking place on the southern course.
The Italians handed Team New Zealand their first loss in race one of the Louis Vuitton Cup in Valencia so the Kiwis would have been looking for revenge
They would also have been keen to make a strong start to round two following their ordinary performance in round one where they suffered three losses and finished third overall behind BMW Oracle Racing and Luna Rossa Challenge.
"We're glad to put it behind us," Team New Zealand's managing director Grant Dalton said of round one..
"We're not happy with being third. We were looking for a better performance. We can't wait to get into round robin two .
"We will have to do better.
In the races sailed yesterday Chris Dickson's BMW Oracle Racing cruised to an easy 3 minute 17s victory over United internet Team Germany.
Victory Challenge beat Team Shosholoza by 52 seconds and Luna Rossa beat Team China by 2 minutes 57s.
Flight two of round two will be sailed tonight along with the postponed matches from flight one.
Team New Zealand have a bye in flight two but will line up against Mascalzone Latino after flight two is completed.
