KEY POINTS:
VALENCIA - Team New Zealand boss Grant Dalton had a low-key 50th birthday today, both on and off the water.
The potentially decisive race seven of the America's Cup yachting series was postponed because of lack of wind off Valencia, which means Swiss defenders Alinghi remain 4-2 up and needing one more win to clinch the regatta.
Back at the Team NZ base, there was a birthday cake with 50 candles for Dalton in the morning before he went out with the rest of NZL92's crew to the race course.
After waiting 75 minutes for the wind to pick up before the race committee called an abandonment, it was back to shore for a quite beer or two to mark his personal milestone.
Strategist Ray Davies said Dalton didn't have strong feelings either way about racing or not this afternoon.
"I think it would have been a dream for him to get a win in today, but he's really not too fazed one way or the other," he said.
"He'll have a quiet drink tonight and that will be his birthday over and then it's business as usual and life as usual for him."
