KEY POINTS:
Team New Zealand are now just two wins away from challenging Alinghi for the America's Cup.
Team New Zealand powered to their third win over Luna Rossa early this morning in Valencia winning by a comfortable 1 minute 38s.
Team New Zealand now lead the best of nine race series 3-0.
In light and puffy conditions, the Kiwis trailed the Italians over the start line but found more pressure on the right hand side of the course and eased into lead.
The Italians started with the starboard entry and controlled the prestart. However their mistake was to let the Kiwis get the right.
By the top mark Team New Zealand were 40s second ahead. From there they just sailed away.
Again Team New Zealand's NZL92 looked a click faster than ITA94.
"Luna Rossa are slower than the Kiwis on both legs, that must be a worry," said commentator Matthew Sheahan.
Team New Zealand strategist Ray Davies said NZL92 was going very well and "we probably had a bit of an edge."
However he said it was not just the boat.
"The way the guys were trimming it and we certainly got a little lucky with the shifts early on in the race."
For Luna Rossa it is a tough road back.
However afterguard member Ben Durham is confident his team can dig themselves out of this hole.
"We know that we are a strong challenger and have a strong belief in each other and everyone is pretty motivated over there at the moment.
"We are looking forward to the next race."
The final does resemble Luna Rossa' semifinal against Oracle, where Luna Rossa could not put a foot wrong. However on this occasion it is Luna Rossa who are on the other end.
"It doesn't need much change for things to switch around," Durham said.
" It is only the little one percentages here and there that can give you that little break and cross and control the race.
"For whatever reason in the last three races they have been able to do that. That is why I don't think it is going to take much to change that around and for us to have the control at the start. From our races against Oracle we know how strong we were at doing that. We know it is a strength."
The teams have a layday before race four on Tuesday.
