Team New Zealand may be left sailing alone on Auckland's Hauraki Gulf with the America's Cup challengers trying to ban anyone training with the cup holders.
A meeting of the challengers in Italy next week will consider trying to stop anyone training with Team New Zealand.
The move is aimed at the Swedish Victory Challenge who have raced the defenders, a website reported yesterday.
During the last cup regatta, the challengers agreed not to race Team New Zealand in the lead-up to the cup race.
However the pact was broken by Japan's Nippon Challenge, to the anger of other syndicates.
