The Swedish Victory Challenge continued their good form this afternoon to chalk up their second win in one day at the Louis Vuitton challenger yachting series on Hauraki Gulf.
Following their victory over French entry Le Défi Areva, Orm (SWE-73) recorded a one minute 17 second win over Mascalzone Latino's ITA-72.
It was the only match to get under way in the second set of races planned for today. The other races were called off after three teams had problems with their gear.
After an aggressive early pre-start by Paolo Cian helming Mascalzone Latino, Orm's skipper Jesper Bank did well to wriggle free from the clutches of the Latin Rascals and got the best start at the pin end with better boat speed.
The Swedish boat soon built a commanding lead and took their second gun of the day.
Mascalzone Latino's owner, Vincenzo Onorato helmed for the final downwind leg, but was unable to dent the Swedish lead.
Winning margin: 01.17
