The start to the final of the America's Cup yachting challenger series has been delayed by a day because of strong winds on the Hauraki Gulf.
The best-of-nine contest for the Louis Vuitton Cup between Alinghi of Switzerland and San Francisco-based Oracle had been scheduled to start today, and officials waited until 10am before finally deciding to postpone racing for the day.
So the struggle to find who will take on Team New Zealand for the America's Cup next month will now start tomorrow at the earliest, depending again on weather conditions.
Organisers have given themselves 14 days altogether to hold the finals of the Louis Vuitton Cup.
The original schedule had races divided into blocks of three, with rest days after each block and two reserve days at the end.
