The revitalised Oracle team, with Chris Dickson in a central role, continued their strong form when they were barely troubled to beat GBR by 2min.
The San Francisco-based Oracle crew pulled off a brilliant start, completely confounding the British who were 19sec behind them off the starting line and were also penalised for tacking too close during the pre-start.
Oracle were up 55sec at the first mark, 1min 10sec at the second, and 1 min 8sec at the third, raising some big questions about the ability of the British team to foot it with the leading yachts in the challenger series.
GBR's losing margin was made worse than it would have been when they carried out their penalty turn just before crossing the finish line.
Winds: 13-16 knots
Winning Margin: 02:00
