Oracle just managed to hold out OneWorld to win the second race of their America's Cup challenger series semifinal repechage by three seconds on the Hauraki Gulf today.
The result means San Francisco's Oracle need just two more wins in the first-to-four victories to go through to the final of the Louis Vuitton Cup against the Swiss team Alinghi.
They won the first race in this series yesterday.
Today in winds between 10-18 knots from the south, Oracle led around every mark but the largest margin was only 33sec.
By the fifth mark Oracle were ahead by 14sec, and Seattle's OneWorld started to gain inexorably on the downwind run to the finish.
Winds: 10-18 knots southerly
Winning margin: 00.03
