Chris Dickson's Oracle BMW Racing beat OneWorld this afternoon and have now secured a place in the final of the Louis Vuitton challenger series.
Today's 1m 04s win completed a 4-0 whitewash for Oracle in the best of seven series and eliminated OneWorld from the competition.
In light and shifty conditions OneWorld were the first over the line after a split tack start.
Early indications pointed to the right hand side as the place to be but although Oracle secured it, it didn't pay off as the breeze switched to the left. This allowed OneWorld to storm up the first beat and around the mark 59s ahead.
Oracle closed the gap to 28s at the second mark benefiting from big shift.
But the shift soon moved back into OneWorld's favour and they rounded the third mark 48s ahead.
In the second downwind leg, OneWorld made a fatal call giving Oracle a huge separation.
The breeze then went Oracle's way and OneWorld were in no position to cover.
Oracle rounded the fourth mark 38s ahead and defended magnificently until the end.
They rounded the last mark 41s ahead before winning by 1m 04s.
Oracle now meet Russell Coutts' swiss syndicate Alinghi in the final. This is a best of nine series starting on January 11th. The winner of that series will race Team New Zealand for the America's Cup in February.
