3.00pm
For the second day in a row, racing in the Louis Vuitton Cup quarterfinal repechage was postponed today.
While yesterday the Race Committee and the teams waited in vain for the breeze to build, today it was too much wind and a choppy sea that forced the delay.
At 1.30pm all racing was postponed until tomorrow.
Just before the announcement, the Race Commitee had ordered the competing yachts to drop their mainsails, expecting gusts of wind above 26 knots. Minutes earlier the Swedish boat Orm SWE-73 had broken its boom.
Weather permitting, race 1 of the two best-of-seven series will take place tomorrow on the Romeo course.
OneWorld USA-67 will race Stars & Stripes USA-77 and Prada Challenge ITA-74 will race Orm SWE-73.
Winners of the two series will join Team Alinghi and Oracle BMW in the semifinals.
