There were no surprises in flight seven of round two of the Louis Vuitton challenger series sailed this afternoon in 17-20 knot winds.
After a loss to Oracle BMW Racing earlier today, OneWorld Challenge turned their fortunes around beating Victory Challenge by 21s, Alinghi had no trouble shaking Team Dennis Conner to win by 49s while GBR Challenge started strongly but couldn't keep up with Italian Challengers Prada who won by 16s.
The match between Oracle BMW Racing and Le Defi Areva was postponed after Le Defi Areva damaged their boat in their match this morning against Team Dennis Conner.
After a shaky first-round performance Prada and their remodelled ITA74 have won of all their races in the second round.
"Today was an important day for us," said Prada tactician Torben Grael.
"We were happy to have collected the points. We are very happy with the way things are going in this round robin - they are probably going better than we thought."
Alinghi welcomed New Zealander Murray Jones back aboard as mainsail trimmer.
Jones missed the first round after breaking his ankle in training prior to the start of the series.
There are two flights scheduled tomorrow. In flight eight GBR Challenge face Victory Challenge, Le Defi meet OneWorld, Alinghi square off against Oracle BMW Racing and Mascalzone Latino face Team Dennis Conner. Prada have the bye.
In flight nine it is the do-or-die clash between bottom-of-the-table Le Defi and Mascalzone Latino, OneWorld against Prada, Victory Challenge against Alinghi and Oracle against GBR. Team Dennis Conner have the bye.
