Team New Zealand have a 4-2 lead over Artemis after another dramatic day on the water in the America's Cup challenger final series.

Emirates Team New Zealand are on match point heading into tomorrow's racing after a tense one second win in the final race of the day.

Emirates Team New Zealand had a chance to book a spot in the America's Cup if they won all three races today but that didn't happen after Artemis took control from mark one to win the race four by 15 seconds.

Artemis had one hiccup late in the race when their boat dropped heavily into the water but they recovered to hold onto the lead.

In race five Artemis once again won the race start but Team New Zealand passed them on the third mark and held the lead for the rest of the race.

In race six Team New Zealand passed Artemis on the fourth leg and were cruising heading towards the final mark but they fell off the foils and almost threw away the race.

Trailing 2-1 after the opening day of racing, Team Sweden skipper Nathan Outteridge again dominated the start, where he is unbeaten against counterpart Peter Burling in this match-up, reaching speeds of up to 45 knots to power over the top of his rival up the first leg.

From that point, Artemis simply sailed away from Emirates Team NZ, stretching to 20 seconds at the fourth mark.

They had a scary moment up the fifth leg, tacking and then nosediving into the Great Sound, losing much of their margin to the chasing Kiwis, who closed to within five seconds at the next rounding.

But Sweden simply had too much boat speed and quickly recovered their poise downwind for a 15-second victory.

Oracle Team USA await the series winner. Artemis are aiming to make the America's Cup final series for the first time ever while Team New Zealand have race for the Auld Mug on six previous occasions.
