Louis Vuitton Cup yachting series organisers are hoping to get racing on the Hauraki Gulf underway at 2.15pm today, two hours later than scheduled.
Light winds that have played havoc this week with racing in the first round-robin continued today and teams were being kept ashore.
Southerly winds of 8 knots were being recorded on the gulf, and it was hoped racing could start at 2.15pm.
Races can start any time before 4pm.
Nine overseas teams are competing for the right to challenge Team New Zealand for the America's Cup in February.
Had racing gone ahead as planned since the competition started on October 1, today would have been the last day of racing in the first round.
Now concerns are growing that all racing in this round will not be finished before the last reserve day, which is Monday.
Organisers made it clear there will be no racing on the planned off days from Tuesday until the following Monday, when teams would work on their boats.
There is a possibility that two rounds of racing would be staged over the weekend to complete the first series.
