KEY POINTS:
The sun continues to shine in Valencia - now we just need the wind to blow.
Racing was cancelled for the second day today due to a lack of wind. The prognosis is not great for the rest of the week either.
Rumour has it that after racing was called off on the opening day former Alinghi helmsman Russell Coutts, who favoured Lisbon as a venue rather than Valencia, called principal race officer Peter Reggio and had a kind of "I told you so" chuckle.
There has also been plenty of banter going on between the race crews, race committee and television commentators so at least no one's lost their sense of humour - yet.
The disappointing thing is it has turned the draw into a nightmare. We are now looking to start the regatta at flight five. It would have be nice if they could have held out for flight one but because sponsors and fans have booked to watched certain flights on certain days the regatta has to go on as scheduled.
If the wind doesn't pick up until later in the week Emirates Team New Zealand may well find themselves up against Luna Rossa or BMW Oracle Racing in their first race!
In comparison to the opening day, which was quite busy due to it being a public holiday, the America's Cup port was relatively sleepy today. Much like most of us around here who are bored stiff waiting for this much awaited event to finally get going.
