Sailors are in for a busy day tomorrow with the Louis Vuitton Challenger series set for a double round following the cancellation of racing for today.
Strong winds have brought the postponement of racing on the past three days and with today's forecast predicting westerly winds of more than 20 knots with gusts into the 30s, the race committee decided last night to postpone racing.
This is the first time racing has been postponed the night before.
Flights three and four will be raced tomorrow on a shorter 12.5-mile course.
Yesterday marked the eighth lost day of racing in 20 scheduled days and the sixth because of strong winds.
Five reserve days were scheduled in round two and all have been used, leaving seven flights to be completed in seven days. If further racing is postponed the race committee will have to schedule more days of doubling up.
Racing in the second round must be completed by next Monday. One day later the top seed and the fifth seed announce who they will race in the quarter-finals once the last eight are split into top and bottom four.
In flight three Prada face Le Defi Areva, Alinghi meet Mascalzone Latino, Team Dennis Conner face Victory Challenge and GBR Challenge meet OneWorld.
Oracle BMW Racing have the bye.
In the fourth flight Oracle face Conner's team, GBR Challenge face Le Defi Areva, Alinghi meet Prada and Victory Challenge face OneWorld. Mascalzone Latino have the bye.
