Oracle BMW Racing pulled off a stunning 4s win over Alinghi in flight eight of the Louis Vuitton challenger series this morning.
In one of the closest races of the series yet, the two heavyweights were neck and neck throughout the shortened 12.5 mile course.
With Chris Dickson skippering, and Peter Holmberg at the helm, Oracle led Alinghi around all three marks, by margins of 25s, 17s and 8s.
Alinghi edged ahead in the final leg but Oracle held the inside overlap position and regained the lead.
With Russell Coutts at the helm Alinghi attacked left, right and centre but it was Oracle's day picking up their second big win after nailing OneWorld yesterday.
Winning margin: 00.04s
