After a four-day break due to strong winds, flight three of the Louis Vuitton Challenger series finally got underway this morning in 12-19 knot winds.
Prada beat Le Defi Areva by 1m 4s and Alinghi beat Mascalzone Latino by 2m 11s on Course Romeo.
On Course Juliet, Victory Challenge beat Team Dennis Conner by 13s. The Swedes suffered a problem with their spinnaker sheet in the last leg and were lucky to escape with the win. It was the third loss in a row for Conner's New York Yacht Club-based campaign.
OneWorld beat GBR Challenge in the other match by 1m 05s. OneWorld now have ten wins and one loss.
Oracle BMW Racing had the bye.
Prada and Le Defi Areva were granted postponements of their afternoon races, after suffering damage this morning.
Prada's Luna Rossa ITA-74 sustained damages to a winch and the French boat FRA-69 also sustained some damage to the top part of her.
Prada was to have raced Alinghi and Le Defi Areva was scheduled to face GBR. These races will be rescheduled for another day.
In the other two flight four races, Oracle BMW Racing will meet Team Dennis Conner on Course Romeo. With Chris Dickson at the helm, Oracle have replaced owner Larry Ellison in the afterguard with Peter Holmberg who was at the helm before being replaced by Dickson.
Victory Challenge will face Mascalzone Latino, and OneWorld has the bye.
