Another day, another dramatic win over Artemis for Team New Zealand.
Once again the Swedish syndicate were handed penalty late in the race to concede defeat to Team New Zealand but the call won't be as controversial as yesterday's final mark penalty.
TNZ eventually won the race by a minuteand 31 seconds - and the win effectively means the Kiwis cannot be eliminated from the challenger series this weekend, even if they lose their remaining four races.
Team New Zealand looked in trouble after falling off the foils and landing heavily into the water midway through the race but Peter Burling and his crew recovered to take the lead at the final mark and force a penalty on Artemis.
Burling admitted at the later press conference things were "a little loose from where I was sitting to be honest. We . . . lost flow over both rudders. Both came out of the water and ... we put the bow in."
He paid tribute to his team, particularly the grinders, saying "the guys produced plenty of oil" to enable the boat to do great manoeuvres and grind their way back into the race.
"We did an amazing job to bounce back into the race. I don't think we would have been able to do that yesterday"
In the other two races today, Oracle beat Team France before Team BAR easily beat Artemis in a surprise result.
