Day two of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup qualifiers was when Emirates Team New Zealand really flexed their foils.
Peter Burling's team won two from two after trailing in both races. Oracle also had two race wins but also suffered a shock defeat to Artemis, the holders first loss of the regatta.
Day two recap
- Team France stunned Artemis in the opening race which included the closest finish of the regatta so far.
- Oracle were too strong for Team BAR and the Brits look to have suffered more damage to their hull after going off their foils and hitting the water at force.
- Team New Zealand edged Dean Barker and Team Japan in a tense encounter. TNZ came back after being down by 17 seconds at the fifth mark to win by 33 seconds.
- Artemis stunned holder Oracle with a strong performance.
- TNZ beat Team BAR by a huge margin after being penalised in the pre-race.
- Oracle bounce back with easy victory over Team Japan to hand Dean Barker second loss of day two.
