Another day in the America's Cup and another frivolous jury challenge.
Only this time, Luna Rossa's protest against Team New Zealand was done with tongue firmly in cheek.
Soon after Team New Zealand defended the Louis Vuitton Cup yesterday, Luis Saenz Mariscal, the general counsel for the Italian team, fired off a mock email to the America's Cup jury with the subject line "Luna Rossa officially protest Emirates Team New Zealand".
Wary from the on-going protests and jury hearings that have detracted from the action on the water this year's America's Cup, the email, which was posted on Team NZ's facebook page, had the media contingent shaking their head thinking "not again".
But it was soon revealed to be a light-hearted protest, with the cheeky Italians objecting to Team New Zealand for "speeding while sailing today's race and crossing the finish line at more than 40 knots".
