Oracle and Jimmy Spithill showed remarkable sportsmanship when they ended up celebrating Emirates Team New Zealand win instead of drowning their own sorrows.
Victorious skipper Glen Ashby told Newstalk ZB's Rachel Smalley how everyone ended up partying together.
"Jimmy Spithill gave us a ring and said 'can I bring the boys over and enjoy having a beer with you guys?' and I said 'absolutely mate, jump in your boat and come on over and have a beer'. It was nice of those guys to recognise the fact that we've done a great job and given those guys a good old dusting", Ashby said.
The party seems to be winding down for Team New Zealand after their emphatic win.
"We're all pretty weary after a big few days. We had a fantastic night with the whole team, family and a lot of supporters and sponsors that have come over. We're just sort of beginning to regroup and take a breath of fresh air today."
