It was an easy day for Team New Zealand today.
It should have been an easy day for them and it was.
They recorded two good victories over +39 and Areva Challenge.
They sailed low risk. They did the job, they looked fine.
Oracle were the story of the day coming from behind to beat Shosholoza and Victory Challenge. Although they were second tier teams, what was impressive was that Oracle had of plan of what they wanted to do when they were behind and they executed it. Very well.
Oracle are sailing the boat very well.
Former Formula One world motoracing champion Michael Schumacher sailed with Team New Zealand as 18th man in their race against +39.
By all accounts the Team New Zealand guys said Schumacher was a lovely guy it was just a pity the one of the world's greatest sportsman wouldn't speak to everyone about his day.
Instead one of the world's most boring press releases came out.
On sailing in the Louis Vuitton, Schumacher said "It was an interesting experience. It is the first time I have been on a proper sailing boat and it was interesting to see all the team effort and all the infrastructure that is happening around."
