Alinghi has developed new equipment which it is seeking permission to use just days out from the start of the America's Cup race, it was reported today.
The Cup holder has a new system of cables to support its mast, but does not have organiser's go-ahead to use them at this stage, Radio New Zealand said.
The regatta measurer has not allowed them to be used in the way they want.
The radio station said a regatta jury hearing was held at which it was decided to bring a new ruling on the development.
