Zac Sunderland, a 17-year-old American, became the youngest person to sail around the world alone when he docked yesterday in Marina del Ray, California, completing a 45,000km trip in the 11m Intrepid that began last year. But he might not have the record for long. Britain's Mike Perham is a few months younger and is sailing a bigger, faster boat.
