The NZL Sailing Team's Andy Maloney and Josh Junior have had another top day at Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia IBEROSTAR Regatta on now in Spain, and are in great shape with two days of competition remaining.
Andy Maloney has extended his overall lead in the 152-boat Laser fleet. Holding 25 points he has advanced to sit 14 points clear of Kristian Ruth (NOR) currently second overall. Tonci Stipanovic (CRO) is just two points adrift of Ruth in third.
In today's racing Maloney continued his streak of top ten finishes with a sixth and a second in the Laser gold fleet racing. Once again, his high level consistency paid off and he remains well and truly at the top of the leader-board.
Tomorrow, on the penultimate day of the regatta, the Laser fleet are scheduled to sail another two races.
In the Finn class - the Olympic heavy-weight dinghy for men - NZL Sailing Team's Josh Junior has been relegated to 2nd place on the leader-board today with Britain's Giles Scott, reigning and multiple world champion, inching into the top spot.
