Sir Clive Woodward and Jake White, World Cup winners with England and South Africa, are reported to be on a list of candidates to become the new French rugby coach.
Philippe Saint-Andre will step down after this year's World Cup. The French media has reported Woodward met officials about the job last month.
The BBC reported that 61-year-old Guy Noves is the frontrunner. Woodward - who guided England to the World Cup crown in 2003 - is said to have initiated the approach. Noves, a wing for France in the 1970s, is the long term coach of Toulouse.
