LONDON - Wales and Lions forward Scott Quinnell has announced his retirement from rugby, the BBC has reported.
Quinnell, who made 52 appearances for Wales, had planned to quit at the end of the season but was forced to retire prematurely because of a hand injury.
"I have been lucky with what I have achieved and you have to be thankful for that," the 32-year-old Llanelli back row was quoted as saying.
"It's just unfortunate, and it's ironic, that the thing that finished my career was my hand rather than my knees. It's a question now of looking to new horizons and getting on with things."
