Captain Hugh Vyvyan and centre Ben Johnston scored first-half tries to spark England A to a 43-6 win over the United States in the inaugural Churchill Cup rugby final in Vancouver yesterday.

A week ago, the English had beaten the US 36-10 in a preliminary match.

They seized command of yesterday's game, led 17-6 at halftime, and never allowed the Americans to make a contest of it.
