The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) is investigating an alleged off-field incident in South Africa on the weekend involving Wallabies winger Wendell Sailor.
A South African newspaper has reported that Sailor, on tour with the Waratahs Super 14 squad, pushed a man to the ground outside a Cape Town nightclub early on Saturday morning.
Sailor has admitted being intoxicated and pushing the man, as well as vomiting outside the nightclub.
A suspended two match ban on the player may possibly be invoked by the ARU.
Sailor has the penalty hanging over his head after another nightclub incident, also in Cape Town, on a trip with the Wallabies last year.
Wallabies reserve halfback Matt Henjak was sent home over that incident which saw winger Lote Tuqiri cop a suspended two match ban.
Radio hosts in Auckland had a field day with the incident this morning, with the Radio Sport breakfast show suggesting the nature of the ARU's problem was "what do you do with a drunken sailor …."
The injured winger had been omitted from the Waratahs team who beat the Stormers 32-26 in a sloppy error-ridden affair on Saturday night.
